The first good looking birthday cake

My Dad turned 60 and I wanted to make him a cake. Before this point I had never made either of my parents a cake as I wasn't confident to take on that big task.

Although not hard to do the look of this cake makes it shine. Thank goodness I had bought the white chocolate fingers 8 months before at Christmas for this cake as they are never around when I need them. The topper was from someone on eBay and really made this cake seem awesome.

I cannot think the the sponge for this cake was anything but chocolate flavored but I could be wrong.
